Féile Rás na mBan

Welcome to Féile Rás na mBan, a brand new festival to coincide with the final day of Rás na mBan for everyone to enjoy!

The event will be held on Sunday 11th September at The Parade, Kilkenny with activities happening between 10am and 2pm.

Please see a list of activities which will be happening throughout the day.

Some activities will need to be booked in advance (for free) and these can be booked here with Eventmaster.

Is your child is struggling to get going on wheels, pop along to our Learn to Cycle and learn in a fun environment, focusing on games and simple challenges! If your child has pedals and/or stabilisers on their bike, please remove them prior to attending to turn them into “balance bikes”. You can view how to do this via this Cycling Ireland video.

Any and every bike or wheels are welcome. (Please ensure your bike is road worthy and safe to cycle.) Cycle the criterium circuit (2km loop). Start out on The Parade and enjoy the criterium circuit on closed streets prior to the pros taking to the circuit! Cycle out past Kilkenny Castle, turn onto Nuncio Road, continue to Waterford Road and enjoy the lovely downhill finish from Patrick Street. The route will be marshalled.

For this session, you will be put into groups and coached how to ride a criterium circuit, picking up tips from our expert coaches! Meet at The Parade where your coaches will be waiting. The route will be marshalled and is a 2K loop.

Who can generate the greatest power? This is a hugely popular challenge amongst friends. Get set up on the stationary power bike and go for it!

Drumming is an easy and fun way to express your inner creativity and is proven to reduce stress and help give you a sense of well-being. Join the workshop to explore the different elements used in active music-making using pulse, tempo, tones on prepared instruments and also home-made instruments.

If you are taking part in any of the cycling activities and you’re bringing your own bike, please ensure your bike is roadworthy. We are offering free bike checks from 10am – 11am if you’d like to get your bike checked out!
